Council for NGOs in Malawi – CONGOMA launched the People’s Scorecard on SDGs on 22 September 2022 at Lilongwe Hotel in Lilongwe, Malawi. The report, which was developed after consultations with citizens, reveals more people are still not aware of the SDGs despite the efforts to popularize them.

The report also shows that Malawi is performing poorly in the SDGs with an average score of 35%.

The SDGs that have been singled out to be very poorly performing include SDG 1 on ending poverty which has been rated at 4% while SDG 2 which aims at ending hunger was rated at 6%. The SDGs which scored more than 50% include SDG 6, Clean Water and Sanitation rated 58% and SDG 17, on partnerships given a rate of 54%.
